UGC Launches Cyber Security Courses For UG & PG Levels

University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched cyber security course at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.

Chairman of University Grants Commission Professor M Jagadesh Kumar has launched the syllabus of cyber security course at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level, as part of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas-2022.

Professor Kumar said, this syllabus aims to create more aware, responsive and responsible digital citizens, thereby contributing effectively to an overall healthy cybersecurity posture and ecosystem.

Higher Education Institutions may engage Cyber Security, Computer, IT qualified professors or professionals from the industry or subject matter experts to take the lectures, practicals and tutorials for these courses.

Deepak Virmani, Deputy Secretary, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (14C), Ministry of Home Affairs, and his team also gave a presentation on Cybercrime Prevention and Cyber Hygiene Adoption. The presentation focused on securing digital personal finance, social media mindfulness, anticipated future cyber threats, cyber hygiene, securing digital personal finance, email security, mobile and internet security, and computer security.

In his concluding remarks, professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Vice Chairman, UGC, mentioned that creating cyber awareness and sensitizing our internet users on safeguarding against cyber- attacks is very much required in present time.
